Colin's main subjects are land- and cityscapes, occasionally with industrial themes. In addition to Ottawa, Illinois’, Peltier Mural, Colin’s other mural commissions with historical themes include a 7'6"x 35' mural for the Chemainus (British Columbia) Festival of Murals, a 7'x 14' wall painting for The Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, and the first mural to be painted in Ely, Nevada.

In 1990 he carried out a commission for the Lac LaBiche, Alberta, Historical Society, tracing the area's commerce from its beginnings in the fur trade through to 1920.

His work can also be found at the Canadian War Museum, the University of Ottawa (Canada), The Banff Center, the Royal Bank of Canada, the Bank of Montreal, SONY Canada, IBM Canada and Unilever, Australia.
He has also created designs for projects as diverse as corporate logos, commemorative coins, and stage sets, as well as illustrated books and newspaper columns.
