Ottawa’s mural program owes its success to the vision of the citizens who founded and maintain it, to the community which supports it financially and emotionally, and to the talents of the men and women who have created masterpieces on our downtown buildings!

Thus far, the program has pulled in the gifts of nationally renowned artists such as G. Byron Peck, Joshua Winer and Roger Cooke. Each artist has brought his own vision to bear on historic figures such as Gen. W.H.L. Wallace and industrialist Victor Peltier, and on eras crucial to our area’s development, such as the building of the Illinois and Michigan Canal.

Wherever you turn downtown, Ottawa’s history leaps out at you! Now meet the artists who have helped make a brush with history possible.
